When I was invited to photograph Afra, I stepped aboard not just a yacht—but a story carved in teak. Afra is the world’s largest private wooden yacht, a 50-meter masterpiece that carries the soul of Arabian dhow tradition with the finesse of modern engineering. My role was to translate that unique fusion into visual content—through photographs that didn’t just show the yacht, but felt like her.
I wanted to honour that warmth. Wide shots captured her majestic scale against the calm waters, while tighter frames revealed the textures—the curve of the wood, the softness of the Thai rugs, the fine Italian interiors.
My goal was to balance heritage and modernity, just like Afra does. There’s a stillness to her presence, but also power—a quiet kind of grandeur that doesn’t need to be loud to be unforgettable.
